 .1 The “fender ”denotes “high pressure floating pneumatic rubber fender”; which is intended to be used for the berthing
 and mooring of a ship to another ship or berthing structure;
 9.2 The “fender” shall strictly conform to the latest ISO17357:2002;
 9.3 The “fender” shall be“YOKOHAMA” & sling type;
 9.4 The initial internal pressure of “fender” shall be 50Kpa;
 9.5 The nominal “fender” size to be 3.3m diameter x 6.5m length and quantity to be 6 each per ship;
 9.6 The color of “fender” shall be black ;
 9.7 The flange opening shall be at either end, for convenience of air charge and water filling;
 9.8 The fender shall be equipped with a safety valve for releasing excess internal pressure when the “fender” is
 over-compressed accidently;
 9.9 The “fender ” shall be equipped with an air valve for inflation and checking air pressure;
 9.10 Each “fender ” shall have markings on the fender body to indicate information as described in standard item
 “Marking ”;
 9.11 The manufacturer shall provide shipyard with certification that fenders have been tested and inspected as specified in
 ISO17357:2002 and that all the requirements have been met, together with a test and inspection report as well as a material
 
 
 
 certificate for the synthetic tyre cord which is used for ordered fenders, and shall provide product qualified certificates;
 9.12The manufacturer shall provide a maintenance manual, in the format of a logbook, where details could be recorded of
 all maintenance and repairs carried out on the fender, including safety valves, from new to date. The manufacturer shall
 also provide a handling/storage/packing recommendation.
 9.13 The manufacturer shall provide specific technical information relating to serial number, age, initial pressure,
 safety-valves specification,etc.
